The Political Science Association, dept. of Political Science, in association with NSS Unit I & II, under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrated Constitution Day at the college premises on 26th November, 2022. The programme started with welcome address by Sri Prasanta Saikia, Head of the department and Programme Coordinator, NSS unit I. The welcome address was followed by speeches from Dr. Nandita Kakoty, Associate Professor in Political Science, Mrs. Ruli Khanikar, Head of the drpartment, Education and Academic In Charge. After that an oath taking ceremony was conducted by Ms. Santi Saya Boruah, Associate Professor in Political Science and President, Teachers’ Unit, J.D.S.G. College. The oath taking was followed by speech by Miss Chayanika Borah, Assistant Professor in Political Science, Government Model College, Kaziranga, resource person for the programme. She not only highlighted the significane of the day, but also spoke about various key provisions of the constitution. All total around 40 students participated in the programme. Due to ongoing semester examinations a greater number of students could not participate in the programme. An interaction session followed where students participated and few interacted with the resource person namely Miss Purbashree Devi, Sri Chinmoy Malakar, etc. The programme came to an end with vote of thanks offered by Sri Sasanka Dhaval Saikia, Assistant Professor in Political Science.
