PRAGYA: INVITED LECTURE HELD AT THE DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH ON 7 OCTOBER 2026

The Department of English, JDSG College, organised an invited lecture under the PRAGYA lecture series on 7 October 2026. The latest instalment of the series focused on “Research Methodology and Proposal Writing”, specifically intended for the students of the UG 7th Semester of the Department. The session was also attended by the students of first, third & fifth semesters.

The lecture was delivered by Mr. Mongolsing Rongphar, Assistant Professor, Department of English, H.P.B. Girls’ College (Autonomous), Golaghat. In his engaging and informative session, Mr. Rongphar discussed several key aspects of research methodology, including types of research, style sheets, data collection, data interpretation, textual analysis, drafting, and research ethics. His session provided the students with valuable insights into the various stages involved in undertaking literary research and preparing a research proposal.

The lecture was followed by an interactive Q&A session. A classroom assessment was also conducted to evaluate the learners’ understanding of the topics discussed.
